Norn Iron Hacker Scene
Hackerspace
Hack NI are investigating the possibility of running a hackerspace to enable the local community to have a place to collaborate, work on projects, provide resources to help with projects, offer organised training and to basically have a centralised place to chill and drink coffee…. and also to provide x0p with a home so it needs to have a place to hang his hammock.
At the minute we are trying to gauge interest as it will involve a lot of grown up things like paying rent, electric, Internet costs etc on a regular basis. If you are interested then please fill in this short form so that we can get an idea of what you expect, how much you’re willing to pay for the privilege and if you have any preferences about the location of this space.
First!!!!!!!!
something along the lines of a 24/7 revolving door barcamp would be cool
[...] Ireland now has two active hackerspaces and it has only been a year since the founding of it’s first. There are planed hackerspaces spring up all over the country. Cork, Limerick and Ennis are set to be home for the next wave hackerspaces in Ireland. Also it looks like Northern Ireland might be home its its first space soon. [...]
Splendid Idea!
Manhole
We’re going to be moving StartVI to a new home. I’m interested in adding on a spare room for the hackerspace if you’re interested?
One of you drop me an email.
Would love to see this get going (hello from 091 labs!)
I’ve been trying over the past couple of weeks to do a similar thing. Gimme a buzz on hackerspace@andrewbolster.info and I’d like to pool our efforts.
I’ve been meaning to get to your meetings since May, I hope to be at the next.
A hackerspace in Belfast would be incredible.
Its hard to see from the site how many people are interested but I’m sure there is plenty.
I was wondering if you had thought of having a forum on the website for an easier way for everyone to converse.
yip, belfast cause if not, no one will go, unless you count jaunty, and he will just be drinking cider
